Alrighty! So I assume you have either of those programs if you're here, right? So I'm gonna go over thumbnails that WILL load quickly. Click on the screencaps for an illustration.

First, I'll show you how to just make thumbnails using Microsoft Frontpage. Step one- Open the page you want your pictures to be on in frontpage. My example page is almost blank. Now go up to "Insert" and choose "Picture". Click on the Icon that says "From File". Or, if you would rather, you can just click on the shortcut for that.

thumb3.jpg (91329 bytes)
Look for the picture you want, click on it, and click "Okay".

thumb4.jpg (127183 bytes)
Now you have a huge picture in the middle of your page. Just click on it to select it. Then you go down to the toolbar at the bottom, and click the auto-thumbnail tool.

thumb5.jpg (59339 bytes)
And now you have this! Click save! It'll ask you if you want to save embedded files... tell it yes! Easy, huh? And I promise you, these WILL load quickly. Well, that's it for how to make thumbnails with Frontpage, now I'll show you how to make the tiny thumbnails! You can use a program called Microsoft Image Composer to make our tiny thumbnails. So that's what I'm going to show you next.

thumb6.jpg (80706 bytes)
First, open an image with the program. It's fuzzy in my example because it's automatically zooming out. But that doesn't matter yet. Click on this button here.

thumb7.jpg (95076 bytes)
You see where it says "Width" and "Height"? Type in the dimensions you want for your thumbnail here. I'm going with 50x50. If you see a checkmark in the "Keep Aspect Ratio" box, click it once to get rid of it. Now you can type in your dimensions. Again, I've gone with 50x50. When you're done, click the "Apply" button.

thumb8.jpg (71284 bytes)
Now it's really tiny! So click on "File". Now choose "Save Selection As". Make sure your little picture has been clicked on! Now call it whatever you want, and you're almost done!

thumb9.jpg (72245 bytes)
Open up Frontpage, and click on the "Insert Image From File" shortcut up there. Find and select your picture. Once you hit okay, you should see it there!

thumb11.jpg (84339 bytes)
Make sure you have your picture selected, and click on the insert hyperlink button.

thumb11.jpg (84339 bytes)
Just type in the name of the original image! Make sure you add the file type at the end, like ".jpg" or ".gif", ect. Now you have a tiny thumbnailed image that'll load very quickly! I hope this helped!
